Well, the Pathfinder party was great and it was nice to see the former owners, who were great to work with also. Donna Love gave me a signed copy of her new book "Bandit" so very good and educational. Donna also donated some books to our Paws Up Shelter to sell, which was so thoughtful. It was also great to visit Larry and Denise, our great Nevada supporters.
It seems someone spotted a goat along the road around Clinton and thought it was a great joke to deliver it to Seeley Lake for the Fourth of July. The goat was seen around Elm Drive the morning of the Fourth so the Pathfinder put it on their Facebook page. In the meantime it had fun playing with anyone who came along, including The Pathfinder's dog, Stihl.
Bless June of The Seeley Lake Motor Lodge and Misty Higgens for putting the goat in June's four wheeler and taking it all the way out to the shelter in Potomac.
Vicki Scalise saw a post on Craigslist from people in the Clinton area who were missing their goat. They were contacted and told their goat was at Paws Up Animal Shelter in Potomac. The Pathfinder's Facebook has helped us with many pets!
Must thank the Chamber of Commerce for a great organized parade. Thanks Cheri, Cindy, Marilyn and Steve and all!
There was a question about The Crown Royal and little pink collar. It was in memory of my husband and his little poodle which had to be put to sleep one week before the parade. Mini was about 12-years-old and had heart problems. Believe me, I drove my little float with a broken heart. She would have loved the parade.
Mini was such a loving, smart full of energy little dog. Mini had never forgotten Charlie. Every time she saw a red pickup, she thought it was him and would cry and whine to get out to see if it was Charlie. Well, now they are together forever and I am sure they are very happy.
Mini left her buddy Molly who still checks for her everyday and is very lost and sits by the road where they would run in the forest land and seems to grieve. Yes animals do remember and do cry and grieve, as with all of us it takes time for such loss.
Thanks to Louise Cameron we will have a beautiful single size quilt on display at Deer Country Quilts which will go to the winner of the raffle at The Farmers Market on Labor Day at 1 p.m. The tickets are $5.00 each available at Deer Country Quilts and the Paws Up Safe Home booth at the Seeley Lake Farmers' Market. The quilt is a velvet Crazy Quilt, embellished with lace and embroidered by Margaret Sandor. We so thank these two girls as all of the money for the tickets will go to The Potomac Animal Shelter. Get your tickets now!
Thanks to all and blessings.
