A crop of Willow Creek Forage Wheat is ready to be harvested for hay or grain from the same field as above. Swathers are used for cutting hay and combines harvest the grain. Haying is best done during sunny days so the hay can cure and dry before baling.

A Potomac field, seen in early March 2016, was planted with Willow Creek Forage Wheat in the fall. This crop can be used for hay or grain for livestock. The wheat makes a good rotational crop, is hardy and provides forage. Hay and grain crop yields are determined by water, sunshine, weeds and sometimes insects.
