SEELEY LAKE - Seeley-Swan High School (SSHS) seniors received scholarships from several different organizations and were recognized for outstanding achievement at the Senior Awards Ceremony, June 2.
Math teacher Annette Johnson and SSHS Principal and English teacher Dr. Kathleen Pecora offered dual enrollment classes again this year. The class has earned more than 220 college credits. Seven students earned 10 or more college credits at SSHS. Jesse Weis and Stephanie Robbins earned more than 20 credits and will start out their college careers as sophomores.
Dr. Pecora recognized Paige Holmes, Seth Linford, Jesse Weis and Kyle Rathman as ACT Superstars for scoring higher than 27 on their ACT college entrance exam.
This year, nine students received their National Honor Society Honor Cords. Students with at least a 3.5 grade point average (GPA) the second semester of their junior or senior year are eligible for the National Honor Society. They are then chosen based on an evaluation of their community service, activities in school and out of school and a staff and faculty evaluation of character and integrity.
Valedictorian Paige Holmes was the only senior that posted a perfect cumulative GPA of 4.0
