Rides Offered to Seeley Lake From Swan Valley

SWAN VALLEY – Condon Community Church is offering transportation for Swan Valley residents to Seeley Lake for groceries, fuel and other necessities. They have a 12-passenger van and volunteer drivers to help those in need.

If interested please call coordinator Patricia Busby, 406-754-0044. Logistics will be arranged based on the need and schedules of those interested.

Rustics and Log Home Building in the Swan Valley – A Program by the USVHS

Swan Valley - Join the Upper Swan Valley Historical Society (USVHS) Friday, June 3 at 6 p.m. in the Swan Valley Museum located at Hwy 83, mile marker 42 in Condon. Come hear about the former log home builder called Rustics and other log home builders in the Swan Valley. Admission is free.

USVHS president Steve Lamar will start the conversation with some background information about log home building. The public is encouraged to come and share memories and stories about their own experiences or those they have heard. Several former and present day log home builders will be present to share their experiences.

2016 Draft Missoula County Growth Policy Available for Review

MISSOULA - The Commissioners’ May 2016 draft Missoula County Growth Policy is now posted on the project website http://www.mcgrowthpolicy.us. A cover letter and a clean copy of the document are both posted. In addition to the clean copy, on the website there is a mark-up version that includes underline/strikeout of changes made since the original November 2015 draft. The mark-up version includes edits made by staff, Planning Board, and the Commissioners, and it also includes Commissioners’ comments regarding some of their changes.

The Missoula Board of County Commissioners will conduct a public hearing on the May 2016 draft Missoula County Growth Policy Wednesday, June 1 at 1:30 p.m. in Room B-14, of the Missoula County Administration Building, 199 W Pine, Missoula, Mont. Public attendance and comments are welcome and encouraged. Comments may be directed to Missoula County Community and Planning Services at 200 W. Broadway, Missoula, MT, 59802, or via email to caps@missoulacounty.us.

5/16, 9:43 a.m., 4XX South Canyon Drive, Seeley Lake: Antler Theft. Mounted rack was unscrewed from the front of the house. Unknown if this is connected to other antler thefts in the area.

5/23, early a.m., Double Arrow Road, Seeley Lake: Theft of a television from one of the Double Arrow Resort cabins.

A message from Sergeant Bob Parcell, “Be vigilant! Don’t take anything for granted. If you see activities at the neighbors [and there shouldn’t be] give us a call. Don’t leave something out that someone can get without a lot of effort.” Parcell added that the recent thefts have been cased; the individual(s) committing the crimes know what they are after and know when to get it.
