Johnson and Beall Named Most Inspiring Students

MISSOULA - Seeley-Swan High School (SSHS) junior Quinton Johnson and senior Tanner Beall were recognized as two of Missoula County Public Schools (MCPS) Most Inspiring Students at a banquet April 21.

The Most Inspiring Students Banquet has been held for the past five years. Every year SSHS teachers and staff choose two students who they feel are an inspiration.

"The staff recognizes students that have overcome circumstances, worked really hard and become a better student because of that," said SSHS Principal Dr. Kathleen Pecora.

Students from MCPS middle and high schools along with their families attended the banquet Thursday night at the Double Tree in Missoula. They were treated to dinner, listened to a speaker and received their award.

While other schools choose more than two inspiring students, Dr. Pecora said just two are recognized each year from SSHS because "we want it to be meaningful."

"This is our way of recognizing students who aren't necessarily a 4.0 student and those that might fly under the radar," said Dr. Pecora. "Quinton and Tanner have worked very hard and we are very proud of them."
