SEELEY LAKE - Kaitlyn Ahlers and Heather Halko will be offering free mental health services in the Seeley Lake community for the next two years. These services are available to adults and children with current or previous experiences of relationship distress, abuse (including children who have witnessed abuse), sexual violence and/or stalking. This service is made possible by a partnership between the Missoula City-County Department of Grants and Community Programs and the University of Montana Clinical Psychology Center.
Therapy can provide a safe, confidential place for adults and children to improve relationships, increase self-esteem, change unhealthy patterns and/or decrease feelings of anxiety and depression.
Both Ahlers and Halko are currently students in the Clinical Psychology doctoral program. They will receive their master's degrees this spring and will continue to work toward their PhDs. For the last two years, they both worked at the Clinical Psychology Center at the University of Montana providing individual and group therapy and assessments to children, adolescents and adults.
Halko was born and raised in Montana. She enjoys a wide range of activities and hobbies, with some of her favorites including snowmobiling, bike riding, backpacking and anything on the water.
Ahlers loves taking advantage of all that the beautiful state of Montana has to offer. Some of her favorite activities include trail running, skiing, hiking and reading. Ahlers is an avid dog lover and has two dogs she adores, Lucy and Ellie.
