Missoula County Sheriff's Sergeant Robert Parcell points to the debris in the ditch as Federal Officer Tyler Robinson and Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Philip Smart look on. A single vehicle accident had the Highway 83's northbound lane near Lake Inez blocked for a couple hours the evening of April 18. Alcohol was a factor in the crash according to Trooper Smart. The vehicle was traveling north when it drifted off the road. Trooper Smart said the driver was slow to react and then over-corrected and rolled. The 26-year-old female driver was taken by helicopter to Missoula. Smart said the driver was from Missoula County and was expected to survive despite being ejected during the crash.
