The Seeley-Swan Blackhawks' track season got underway at the Jim Johnson Invitational in Frenchtown March 31.
The Lady Blackhawks took first place with 99 team points at the event that hosted 19 teams from A, B and C schools. The Boys earned 11 team points.
The Ladies swept the 400 and 1600-meter relays. Stephanie Robbins won the 800 and 1600 while Alex Bohlman won the 100 to help propel them into the top spot.
Quinton Johnson was the top winner for the Boys, earning a third place in the 110-meter Hurdles. Logan Maughan took a pair of fifths in the 800 and 1600-meter events.
The Blackhawks then headed to Corvallis for the Gene Hughes Invitational April 2. Half a dozen A schools, one B school and five C schools participated in the event.
The Lady Blackhawks earned 54 team points for fifth place while the Boys scored 11 points for tenth place.
Lily Mercer and Andi Bohlman led the Ladies with 14 points each.
Mercer won the 400-meter, took fourth in the 200 and was on both relay teams. Bohlman took third in the 200, second in the 400 and was on the 1600 relay team. The Lady Blackhawks earned third in the 400 and second in the 1600 relay.
Quinton Johnson led the Boys with a third place in the 110-meter hurdles and a sixth place in the 300 hurdles. Johnson was also part of the 400-meter relay team that took fifth.
The next meet is the Darby/Florence Invitational in Corvallis April 7 with events starting at 9:30 a.m. The Bigfork Invitational follows April 9 in Bigfork starting at 10 a.m.
