The Seeley-Swan Blackhawks lost a close game to Granite before defeating Lincoln last week giving the Blackhawks a 6-10 overall record. They are 4-7 in conference record with just two games of the regular season remaining before District Tournaments.
Versus Granite
The Blackhawks traveled to Philipsburg to take on the Granite Prospectors Feb. 5. The last time the teams met, Granite held an early lead most of the game and fended off a late game comeback staged by the Blackhawks.
The Blackhawks took the early lead this time putting the Prospectors down in the first quarter. The Blackhawks were unable to hold on to it and headed into the second half down one.
The second half of the game mirrored the first. The Blackhawks regained the lead in the third and gave it back in the fourth. With it they took on another loss, 37-39.
Jacob Haley led the Blackhawks with 11 points. Bradley Miller and Joshua Cahoon were close behind with 9 and 8 points respectively.
Also scoring: Cameron Haines 6 and Keaton Johnson 3.
Versus Lincoln
The Blackhawks were looking for redemption when they hosted the Lincoln Lynx Feb. 6. The Lynx, who hadn't won a game at the time, upset the Blackhawks earlier in the season.
The Lynx would not be as lucky on Seeley's home court as the Blackhawks rolled to an 11-point half time lead and then dominated the second half. The final score was 73-35.
The Blackhawks were dialed in on their three-point shooting. The team hit a total of 11, three pointers with Jacob Haley sinking 7 of the 11.
Haley was hitting everything but free throws. He led the Blackhawks with 32 points. Cameron Haines had 9 points and Keaton Johnson scored 8 to round out the top three.
Also scoring: Joshua Cahoon 7; Gunner Sloan 4; Nino Robinett 3; McKinley Nicholas 3; Billy Bedson 3; Gavin Mercado 2 and Bradley Miller 2.
