The Seeley-Swan Blackhawks had a split week defeating Two Eagle River on the road after falling to the Clark Fork Co-op at home. The Blackhawks overall record is now 5-9.
Versus Clark Fork Co-op
The Blackhawks were unable to repeat their victory earlier this season against the Clark Fork Co-op Mountain Cats Jan 28. The Cats rallied near the end of the first quarter to put the Blackhawks down 4-13 setting the tone for the next two quarters.
The Blackhawks headed into the final quarter trailing by 17 points. After hitting a two-pointer, Jacob Haley sunk three, three-pointers in a row. Cameron Haines downed a three-point shot as well to cut the Mountain Cats' lead to 9. The Blackhawks wouldn't get any closer and the game ended with a final score of 32-47.
Haley led the Blackhawks with 23 points with nearly half of them coming in the fourth quarter.
Also scoring: Haines 3; Billy Bedson 2; Keaton Johnson 2 and Joshua Cahoon 2.
Versus Two Eagle River
The Blackhawks headed to Pablo to take on Two Eagle River Jan. 30. The Blackhawks slowly pulled away from the Eagles throughout the game. They cemented their victory in the fourth, outscoring the Eagles 18-10 to a final score of 62-45.
Jacob Haley scored 19 points including four, three pointers to lead the Blackhawks. Bradley Miller also scored into the double digits with 14.
Also scoring: Billy Bedson 9; Cameron Haines 8; Joshua Cahoon 6; Chance Johnson 2; Nino Robinett 2 and Gunner Sloan 2.
This Week at SSHS
The Blackhawks and Lady Blackhawks start the week on the road Feb. 5 against Granite in Philipsburg with games starting at 2:30 p.m. The Junior Varsity will then host Hellgate while the Varsity hosts Lincoln Feb. 6 with games starting at 1 p.m.
