The Seeley-Swan Lady Blackhawks dominated the Valley Christian Eagles on the home court last week before falling to the Trojans in Drummond. The loss is the first for the Lady Blackhawks this season and gives them an overall record of 11-1.
Versus Valley Christian
The Lady Blackhawks hosted the Valley Christian Eagles Jan. 21. The Ladies took a 16-point lead in the first quarter to 62-30 victory over the Eagles.
Paige Holmes led the Lady Blackhawks hitting 3, three-point shots as part of her 13 game points. Marisol Caro matched Holmes' 13 points while Alex Bohlman added 10 of her own.
Also scoring: Tessa Grimes 7; Eliana Robinett 7; Stephanie Robbins 4; Delaney Holzworth 3; Stevi Meade 2; Cera Strumpfer 2 and Mary Strumpfer 1.
Versus Drummond
The Lady Blackhawks took on the Drummond Trojans Jan. 23. The Trojans took an early lead putting the Lady Blackhawks down 6 in the first quarter. The Lady Blackhawks fought their way back to tie the game up at the half.
The Lady Blackhawks couldn't stop the Trojans from regaining a sizable lead in the third. The Ladies were able to keep the Trojans from scoring any field goals in the fourth quarter but gave up 11 points to free throws. The Trojans would end up scoring nearly half their points off free throws and go on to win the game, 33-42.
Paige Holmes led the Lady Blackhawks hitting 3, three pointers and a pair of free throws for 11 points total. Delaney Holzworth followed with 9 points.
Also scoring: Eliana Robinett 4; Cera Strumpfer 4; Tessa Grimes 3 and Alex Bohlman 2.
This Week at SSHS
The Blackhawks and Lady Blackhawks host the Clark Fork Co-op Jan. 28 with games starting at 2:30 p.m. They wrap up the month in Pablo, taking on Two Eagle River Jan. 30 with games starting at 1 p.m.
