The SLE fifth through eighth grade band played three holiday selections. Only two members of the band Ashton Sly and Klaire Kovatch had played in the band previous to this year. Band Director Kaytee Ambrozich demonstrated how how they have learned to stay together, count rests and tap their feet while playing. "I'm so proud of how far they have come," said Ambrozich.

SLE second graders played "Carol of the Bells" under the direction of Music Instructor Caleb van Guelder. While most of the students played keyed percussion instruments, a few hand drums were also added to the mix. Many of the students soloed during the piece. "These kids have worked really hard this year," said van Gelder. "They have worked well together and have learned a lot."
