The Seeley-Swan Blackhawks had a close game with Charlo before falling to Plains to open their season last week at a tournament in Frenchtown.
Versus Charlo
The Blackhawks took on the Charlo Vikings Dec. 4. The Blackhawks kept pace with the Vikings through the first quarter before hitting a wall in the second quarter. The Blackhawks were only able to score two points to Charlo’s 17.
The Blackhawks were again able to match the Vikings in the third quarter before making a run at them in the fourth. The Boys scored 20 points, nearly half their game total, in the fourth quarter while holding Charlo to just 6.
The fourth quarter rally closed the gap but wasn’t enough for the Blackhawks to overcome Charlo. The final score was 42-47.
Joshua Cahoon had 17 points in the game to lead the Blackhawks. Bradley Miller followed with 11.
Also scoring: Jacob Haley 6; Billy Bedson 5, McKinley Nicholas 2; Nino Robinett 1 and Cameron Haines 1.
Versus Plains
The Blackhawks took on the Plains Horsemen Dec. 5 at Frenchtown. The Blackhawks held the first half to just a 7-point deficit before the Horsemen blew out the game in the third quarter outscoring Seeley-Swan 20 to 2. At the final buzzer, the Blackhawks fell to the Horsemen 36-66.
Bradley Miller led the Blackhawks with 11 points. Jacob Haley added 10 of his own.
Also scoring: Keaton Johnson 9; Joshua Cahoon 4 and Nino Robinett 2.
This Week at SSHS
The Blackhawks and Lady Blackhawks travel to Valley Christian to take on the Eagles Dec. 12. Junior Varsity games start at 1 p.m. while Varsity is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
