Goal: The most important goal at Clearwater Montana Properties (CMP) is to listen to their clients' needs and to help them achieve their goals. "We don't do anything in business that we are not willing to stand behind," said owner and founder Kevin Wetherell. "We do the right things for the right reasons and always place our clients' interests above our own."

History: Kevin and Wendy Wetherell founded Clearwater River Realty (CRR) in 1994. They opened for business in their present location in Seeley Lake. Kevin is a fifth generation Montanan, and after 10 years working out-of-state in power plants, he and Wendy returned to Montana to pursue a quality of life they believed Seeley Lake offered. They said they were "scared to death" as they were opening a new real estate business in a slow market and hardly knew anyone in Seeley Lake. But the market started to improve in 1996. In 2008, Clearwater was selected by Cabela's Trophy Properties to be the exclusive Territory Broker for all of Montana. In anticipation of the growth to come, the name changed to CMP.

Since 2008, CMP has grown to 31 agent/office locations across Montana and Coeur d' Alene, Idaho. In 2014, Trophy Properties changed their name to Sports Afield Trophy Properties and Clearwater acquired the territory rights to expand into Idaho, Wyoming, eastern Washington and the Caribbean. CMP employs 11 full-time employees and more than 80 agents. Kevin is responsible for overall operations of Clearwater. Business Manager Twyla Johnson has led day-to-day operations for 18 years. There are four Regional Managing Brokers that provide supervision and support to the agents. Local employees in the Seeley Lake and Whitefish offices conduct all of CMP's administration and staff marketing support.

CMP offers the ability to list properties on 11 multiple listing services across Montana, as well as Montana's only statewide MLS, http://www.FireMLS.com.  Sports Afield Trophy Properties listings are broadcast to 650 other websites, including the home page of http://www.Cabelas.com. CMP promotes properties worldwide through other Sports Afield Trophy Properties Brokers, 31 agent/office locations and two office locations in the Missoula International Airport. The CMP Real Estate Guide is the largest real estate publication in Montana with an annual circulation of more than 200,000 copies. CMP donated more than $60,000 in 2014 to local non-profit organizations.
