SEELEY LAKE - Ryan Donald Greenwood, 23, joined his keeper of the stars Sunday, Nov. 15 due to a tragic vehicle accident.
Ryan was born May 30, 1992 to Robert Greenwood and Rendie Connell, in Missoula, Mont. They made their home in Seeley Lake, MT for four years.
Ryan was determined at a very young age to excel beyond his older brother and sister. Didn't matter what they could do, he could do it better. Things that most youngsters can't begin to do, Ryan had mastered. He moved to Juneau, Alaska with his mom in 2003. He attended school in Alaska for three years before moving to Mead, Wash. to be with his dad in 2006 and still resides in the home. He graduated from Mt. Spokane High School in 2011.
He was a ray of sunshine, had a twinkle in his eyes, a kind and gentle soul, always there to lend a helping hand. He was a very loving young man, enjoyed life, family, friends, sports and fast cars.
Ryan had multiple close friends, but three very good friends that he considered to be family, Bryce, Josh and Austin, they were his "other brothers". Bryce joined Ryan at many family gatherings, family reunions and holidays. Josh and Austin were not only bro's to Ry but co-worker's at ANR Auto Works. Austin, Josh, Bryce and Ry spent many hours together sharing their hopes and dreams, working on their cars, having fun like boys do and talking about life in general.
Over the years Ryan and his dad developed their own special father/son bond. Every single day "I Love Yous" were exchanged when one left the home, went to bed or work and they were sincere. But Ryan was not ashamed to use the words "I Love You", as he told all of "his" people that they were loved by him and we knew it too.
Ryan and his mom had their very own relationship and Ryan was perfect to her. When Ry was young his mom would pet his "devil" brow and he would close his eyes and go to sleep. To this day Ry would say, "Don't do that Mama" and laugh.
Ryan enjoyed going to Seeley Lake, Mont. to visit with his mom and family, boating, wave runners and snowmobiling in the winter. Although he didn't get over there nearly often enough, he took with him some very special memories.
Ryan is survived by his father, Robert Greenwood, Mead, Wash.; mother Rendie Connell, Seeley Lake, Mont.; brother Austin Kuhl of Juneau, Alaska; sister Terryn Kuhl of Seeley Lake, Mont.; step sister Jamie Wood Hanson (Heath) of Potomac, Mont.; step brother David Wood of Spokane, Wash.; grandparents Marilyn and David Williams of Deer Park, Wash. and Gerry and Bonnie Connell of Seeley Lake, Mont.; aunts and uncles Merrilee and Mike Hohl of Nine Mile Falls, Wash., Sheri & Kenny Wesson of Clovis, Calif., Larry Lindsey of Wyoming, Mich., Gene and Faith Connell of Missoula, Mont. and Paul and Bev Arrand of Deer Park, Wash.; nieces and nephews; his many many cousins near and far, along with all of his friends that loved him.
Ry, our hearts are heavy and you are so very loved and will be greatly missed by so many!
There was a "Celebration of Life" and Potluck held at the Mt. Spokane High School gym Saturday, Nov. 21.
