The Potomac Pioneers boys basketball A and B teams opened their season with three home games against Hellgate, Bonner and Desmet Elementary Schools plus one away game at Target Range Elementary School. The A team, seventh and eighth-graders, are 3-1 for the season. The B Team, fifth and sixth-graders, are 1-3.
In the first home game against the Hellgate Hawks, the Pioneers B team were 10 - 10 at the half. The Hawks beat the Pioneers B team 29 to 19.
The A team went basket-for-basket against the Hawks. By the final buzzer, Potomac won by two points with a score of 20 - 18.
Bonner came to Potomac Nov. 5. to beat the Pioneers B team by more than 10 points. The Pioneer A team was felled by the Lumberjacks by more than 10 points as well.
At Potomac on Nov. 10, Desmet School played one game, due to a small team. The Potomac A and B teams took turns playing. Desmet lost by more than 10 points.
In the first away game against the Target Range Tigers on Nov. 12, the Pioneers B team lost, 19 - 36.
The Pioneers A team rallied and finished off the Tigers by pulling ahead at the half and winning 24 - 20.
The next Pioneer basketball game is at home against Desmet Nov 19.
