How great our Fire Dept. is for entering a burning home to look for the pets after they knew all people were out. They did save a kitten with oxygen but could not save the mother cat or the little dog who hid under the bed. How sad for the family. Lets pull together to help the family. Pat Shane has helped approximately 40 cats and kittens this year. With the help of the Ed Jackson Fund many of these cats have received their shots and been spayed or neutered. If not for Pat, we would have more feral cats due to people leaving their pets or dumping them when they find out they are with kittens.
We have a colony of feral cats on Redwood Lane. Pat will try to catch, neuter and spay, give them shots and turn them loose. Feral cats carry all kinds of diseases including rabies. Should people object to us doing this, Animal Control will be called to trap and they will be euthanized. So you who are protecting these cats, it’s your choice.
People on Riverview Drive, you are letting your dogs run and a couple of dogs off of Riverview are running. That makes you an irresponsible pet owner. Have your dogs had all their shots and do they have a warm place to sleep? Animal Control has been advised to constantly patrol this road, so keep your dogs in your yard and keep them fed and warm.

Please people make sure your dogs are inside when it is below 40 degrees. There is no excuse for pets to be cold and hungry. Animal Control will be called and you could be fined! If you are cold, your pet is cold!
