I am happy to say The Ed Jackson fund has helped many people lately to spay and neuter dogs and cats. Paws Up Animal Shelter of Potomac has been taking in and adopting out dogs. No dogs or cats are allowed in until the rabies quarantine expires around Nov. 14.
People the shelters are full of dogs and cats that have not had their rabies shots. If your dog is picked up and does not have current rabies shots, it will be held for sixty days and you will be charged with dog at loose and the charges of the sixty days held in order to get your dog back. Why be stupid when we have a fund to help you with those shots? It’s called once again being a good and responsible pet owner.
Because we have paid out what we have to help, we need your support at the Bake Sale on Oct. 24 at Cory’s Valley Market from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
I looked out my window at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday only to see a mountain lion walking up the road, right in the middle of Cedar Lane.
I called the neighbors and told them to watch. We watched it continue up to the corner of Cedar and Tamarack and go into the weeds and path that the bears also use. Pretty exciting and beautiful!
My little dogs saw it too and are still scared. It is still around and my little Jack Russell can smell it, so when they go out at night I go with them and tell them “stay close.” Put your cats and small dogs in and stay alert!
Well, we had a couple or four heroes last week. Thanks Mike for keeping a lost dog and posting all the signs. The owner was found. The owner was questioned about no I.D. and stated the dog was chipped. Sorry people, we can’t see a chip! Try a collar with an ID tag and rabies tag. You know you have a runner!
People when you come to Seeley Lake , you can’t turn your dog loose! Keep it close. We have enough running dogs of our own and many people here spend too much time saving a pet because of your carelessness!
When Mary became very ill, she was more worried about her cat at a new place than she was worried about herself. I missed her call so she called the grade school and Suzie and Sally jumped right in to help. They called Hazel at the Potomac Paws Up Animal Shelter and luckily Marci was there. They raced to Seeley with Mary’s cat which helped Mary greatly. Thanks girls and special to Marci.
Well hunting season is coming and I think hunting and eating the food is fine. What I hate is when people go macho and kill something, a beautiful animal, so they can go to a local pub and announce “You betcha. I killed a bear, or a lion or a wolf.” My thought is why? I can understand it if the animal is a threat but just to be macho just for the thrill of killing? My opinion is you need to be checked for being ignorant and a bigger danger than the animal you killed. Animals are to be valued and this is their land also.
I visited Unleashed in The Swan, sure was a nice bunch of happy dogs. Kathy is now open and can be found in the Pathfinder Services Directory.
