The 44th Annual Father Mac Fastpitch Softball Invitational event brought teams from around the state to Helmville, Montana for the weekend of June 3-4. Each year the non-league softball tourney brings teams together for a weekend of fun and fast pitches in memory of a Helmville priest who would come up to play umpire after church services. Sean Mercado of the Seeley-Swan Blackhawks basketball team has signed an agreement to attend and play for the University of Providence in Great Falls next year. Mercado has been interested in many sports and athletics since he was a child and has played varsity football and basketball for Seeley Lake. The 2022-23 season of the Blackfoot Valley Basketball League welcomed the Ovando Colts with 12 players for the "B" and "C" squads.
