I am frustrated with lack of transparency, no discussion at the board meetings when issues are brought up, unless they are known ahead of time. The Clearwater Resource Council is opposed to the proposed gravel pit near Elbow Lake. This area is directly adjacent to the most important winter range for big game in the Clearwater Valley . Dear Editor, On January 6 of this year, LHC, Inc. a paving contractor from Kalispell, submitted an application to Montana DNRC to mine crush and remove roughly 110,000 cubic yards of stone, sand and gravel from their Land Trust, Section 20, Township 15N, Range 14W.
