OVANDO - The scarecrows have been set up in Ovando as part of the first Ovando Scarecrow Contest in 20 years. "I thought maybe this was a good time [for the contest]," competition organizer Terry Sheppard said. "People are all stressed out. [I thought it would] give them a reason to get out." SEELEY LAKE - Over a dozen cars came together Halloween night to welcome trick-or-treaters at the seventh annual Trunk-or-Treat event hosted at Seeley Lake Elementary. In addition to the treats, the event also featured music, free pizza at Stageline Pizza and Dracula's Castle. SWAN VALLEY - Around 10 trunks participated in the second annual Trunk or Treat event at the Hungry Bear Steak House in Condon. There was also hot cider and music for attendees to enjoy. SEELEY LAKE - Local golfers came together over the weekend and raised more than $5,000 for Seeley-Swan Blackhawks Athletics as well as honored the life and legacy of Mike Haley at the first annual Mike Haley Memorial Golf Tournament.
