The Seeley Lake region saw an uptick in burglaries last week with three reported in just seven days. But according to the Missoula County Sheriff’s Department they aren’t related incidents and they aren’t even all burglaries. Some extreme winter conditions this year led to abnormally high fish fatality rates in the Blackfoot Valley. The ice had mostly melted off Brown's Lake by May 1. Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen announced that over 17,000 Montanans who were tricked by TurboTax’s owner Intuit into paying to file their federal tax return. On Saturday, May 6, the Seeley Lake Fire Department conducted a training exercise for extracting persons trapped in a vehicle after a crash. Firefighters practiced techniques for quickly gaining access to damaged vehicles and safely removing anyone trapped inside.
