SEELEY LAKE - Attendees rock n' rolled at the Seeley-Swan Food Bank's (SSFB) second annual Sock Hop, Friday, Oct. 7. They enjoyed a spaghetti dinner, silent and live auction, and tunes from an old fashion jukebox all to help fight hunger in the valleys. From January through September, the SSFB served 271 households and 695 individuals. Volunteers have put in 445 hours giving out nearly 13,700 pounds of food. SEELEY LAKE – For the past few weeks, law enforcement has been actively working the school zones, enforcing speed limits. Once the new speed limits on Highway 83 go into effect, these will also be enforced. SEELEY LAKE - Every fall Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks (FWP) fish biologists complete bull trout redd counts, tracking the abundance of the trout spawning nests. A redd is an area on the stream bottom that trout prepare as their spawning nest. The redd counts is an index for spawning activity and adult abundance. HELENA – Montanans earning minimum wage will see the rate increase to $8.15 per hour beginning Jan. 1, 2017.
