EDNA, CALIFORNIA - Seeley-Swan High School graduate Kyle Peltier is over halfway through his multi-month journey hiking along the west coast on the Pacific Crest Trail. He began his trek April 11. SEELEY LAKE - At approximately 4:30 p.m. Thursday, July 22 firefighters were called to a structure fire on Juniper Drive in Seeley Lake. When they arrived multiple structures were involved and neighbors and community members were working to keep the flames from spreading using garden hoses. OVANDO - Before dawn Tuesday, July 6, Leah Lokan, a 65-year-old cyclist from Chico, California, was killed by a grizzly bear while camping in Ovando. Friday morning, a grizzly bear suspected of killing Lokan was shot and killed by wildlife officials less than two miles from Ovando.
