OVANDO - Ovando resumed it's Fourth of July celebration this year after canceling last year due to COVID. The parade through downtown was themed "Back-to-Good Times." Attendees also enjoyed a barbecue and beer garden following the parade....
SEELEY LAKE - Residents celebrated the 24th anniversary of the Annual Rubber Duck Race along the Clearwater River during Seeley Lake's Fourth of July festivities Sunday, July 4. Event organizer Cristine Matheny estimated that around 300 ducks passed through the finish line with the first 10 receiving prizes. SEELEY LAKE - The Seeley Lake Volunteer Fire Foundation invited residents to meet volunteer firefighters and members of the Quick Response Unit while learning about fire safety during their Annual Pancake Breakfast Sunday, July 4 at the Fire Station. SEELEY LAKE - Mission Bible Fellowship welcomed locals and visitors alike at their free barbecue. Attendees could enjoy shredded pork with beans and potato salad, dessert and a watermelon. SEELEY LAKE - Locals and visitiors alike took to Seeley Lake to close out the Fourth and enjoy the shows. Oregon band Code Red performed classic rock hits before the fireworks ceremony on Lindey's Prime Steak House lawn. OVANDO – After searching by helicopter and on the ground, the grizzly bear that killed a woman Tuesday morning has not been found. Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks bear specialists and wardens are continuing to monitor culvert traps set in the area. The woman was identified as 65-year-old Leah Davis Lokan of Chico, California. KALISPELL - National Forest System Trail #35, also known as the Holland Gordon Trail, and National Forest System Road #44A are closed to all traffic and public use. SEELEY LAKE - A dislodged hitch caused a stolen trailer to flip on its side at mile marker 19 Highway 83 just north of Boy Scout Road Wednesday, June 23. SEELEY LAKE - The Seeley Lake Elementary School Board unanimously approved updates on their 3000 policy series during their regularly scheduled monthly meeting Monday, June 21. During the meeting they also approved a stipend for staff as well as the Safe School Reopening and Continuity Plan.
