SEELEY LAKE - Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks (FWP) Missoula Region Supervisor Randy Arnold advised the Seeley Lake Community Council at their April 11 meeting that the RV Dump Station at Clearwater Junction won’t be operational again this year. SEELEY LAKE – The excitement was tangible as children lined up for the annual Seeley Lake Lions Club Easter Egg Hunt in the fields and playground at Seeley Lake Elementary April 16. SWAN VALLEY – On April 12, the Swan Valley School Board directed the administration and facilities personnel to seek bids for replacing the boiler, some exterior double doors and the middle school building windows. They also voted to participate in the Montana Aspiring Teacher Residency Program next year. The school has ESSER funds available until 2024 for building improvements. SWAN VALLEY – The Condon Community Easter Egg Hunt was a bit different this year with nearly six inches of snow on the ground April 17. Typically eggs for the hunt held at the Condon Community Ball Field are easily visible for the hunters. However, this year everyone had to dig through a bit of white to find the colored eggs. MISSOULA COUNTY – Missoula County Public Works building division plans to request that the Missoula County Commissioners increase building permit fees as early as June 2022. The Public Works department is funded entirely by building permit fees that are no longer covering costs. MONTANA – On Friday, April 8, the Montana Department of Livestock (MDOL) announced the confirmation of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in two Montana flocks. These are the first cases of HPAI reported in domestic poultry in Montana since 2015. Montana is the 25th state to report cases of HPAI in domestic poultry in 2022. SEELEY LAKE - Recycling Works will be holding its final scheduled glass recycling event in Seeley Lake Saturday, April 23 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Seeley Lake Community Foundation. MISSOULA - The Missoula County Public School Board of Trustees approved an operations levy for the high school district at their March 29 board meeting.
