SWAN VALLEY - Alan Lee Childs, 77, born Aug. 11, 1943 died of natural causes on Nov. 19. Alan was born in Browning, Montana but grew up in Libby, Montana with his parents Dorothy and Lee Childs. He joined the Navy in 1963 where he became an Engineman and a Certified Diver. He attended Submarine School and became an underwater welder where he salvaged sunken ships from the ocean. SEELEY LAKE – For the past two years, students at Seeley Lake Elementary School have the opportunity to be creative in their classrooms thanks to community support through the Alpine Artisans, Inc (AAI) Giving Tree for art supplies. CONRAD - Lucille Mary "Cec" (Brophy) Peterman was born Dec. 5, 1939 in Conrad, Montana to William and Beatrice Brophy of Valier, Montana. She passed peacefully in her sleep on Nov. 25 at the Pondera Medical Center Extended Care after a long battle with dementia. She was 80 years old. Cec was the seventh of 10 children. Wood theft at Ski Trails Yurt SEELEY LAKE – Firewood is being stolen from the Seeley Creek Nordic Ski trails yurt a little at a time. A lot of effort and volunteer work goes into collecting the firewood so those who use it in the winter have a warm place to rest.
