SEELEY LAKE – The proposal of the community ice rink on the Seeley Lake Elementary fields has generated discussion and a few common concerns in the community. Committee members Scott Eggeman and Gary Swain feel the main goal for the rink would be to provide an opportunity for local youth to learn how to skate and become a community asset during the longest season of the year. SEELEY LAKE – Around 12:40 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 7, Seeley Lake volunteers and Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Jacob Parks responded to a vehicle/pedestrian collision on Highway 83. The pedestrian was transported to Missoula and released later in the day. There were no injuries to the driver and passenger in the vehicle. Alcohol was not suspected as a factor for the driver but was for the pedestrian. SEELEY LAKE – The Seeley Lake Fire Board approved the shipping cost for the department to acquire a 2011 Polaris Ranger Crew. Seeley Lake Fire Chief Bob Vanden Heuvel feels this will expand the capabilities of the department to allow volunteers more mobility for event coverage and for assistance on wildland fires. SEELEY LAKE - The Seeley Lake Lions Club hosted their annual skating party Sunday, Jan. 29. Community members of all ages came out for fun in the sun and enjoyed temperatures above 40º Fahrenheit. SEELEY LAKE – Over a seven-year period, what started as an opportunity for friends to play broomball on Seeley Lake has grown into an officially sanctioned Pond Hockey Tournament.
