    MISSOULA – Montana fires have affected many customers and employees of both Blackfoot and Missoula Electric Cooperative (MEC) this summer. The cooperatives share many of the same service areas and wanted to help their neighbors. The respective Board of Trustees from each organization expressed a desire to aid their local communities impacted by the devastating fire season.     PABLO, MONT. – The Seeley-Swan High School Cross Country team took to the course for the first time this season at the Salish Kootenai College Silver Fox Golf Course Saturday, Sept. 16. While Head Coach Zelda Haines said the runners did well she saw it more of a practice than a competitive meet. Because of the smoke, the team has not been able to practice until this past week.     SEELEY LAKE - The Seeley-Swan Lady Blackhawks played a match on the road against Victor Sept. 15 before finally getting to play on their home court. The threat of fire subsided and the smoke cleared allowing the Ladies to host Lincoln Sept. 16. Lady Blackhawks Head Coach Tammy Lewis said the team got in a couple of solid practices.     SEELEY LAKE - The smoke lifted and the Blackhawks returned to their home field to host the Twin Bridges Falcons Sept. 16. The Blackhawks came out strong, stopping the Falcons' opening drive and holding them to just one touchdown in the first quarter. The Falcons scored another touchdown early in the second quarter.     Community Handbell Choir Fall Season Begins SEELEY LAKE - The Seeley-Swan Mountain Bells, a local community handbell choir, will kick-off the fall season Tuesday, Sept. 26. New members are welcome. Anyone who is curious is encouraged to give the group a try and see how you like it. Members are expected to be able to read music.     Morning Update: The Rice Ridge Fire is 160,181 acres, 71% completed* and has cost $45.9 million. There are currently 366 personnel assigned to the fire.
