I normally shy away from discussing anything religious or political but I sincerely {and I have tried} could not help myself this go round. Thanks to social media and the Internet, it's a free for all for opinion slinging these days on a bevy of topics from race, email servers, candidates, etc... And I don't like to jump in the fight {particularly when I am not educated enough to do so} but I did anyway. This year's election has me feeling like the second coming couldn't happen faster, because...

During the 2016 fire season in western Montana, many residents have been directed to evacuate their homes because a wildfire is fast-approaching. For many residents in the Roaring Lion area near Hamilton, homes were lost completely and our thoughts are with them as we write this letter. We live in the same communities, and will be there to do our part as first responders in times of need. Like many homeowners all across the country, our families are ready for potential evacuation. There are some who have not made adequate preparations yet but...

I once saw a poster in the airport of Freetown (Sierra Leone) that said "Beware of Bigfoot". I thought it funny to see those words in Africa but on closer inspection, found that it was referring to the parasitic disease known as elephantiasis rather than the mystic, mountain creature that we are familiar with here in the Rocky Mountains. I've always been fascinated with these exotic diseases. Elephantiasis is quite something to see. Spending two years in Africa without seeing a single case of...
Then God said, “Let us make humanity in our image to resemble us so that they may take charge of the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, the livestock, all the earth, and all the crawling things on earth.” God created humanity in God’s own image, in the divine image God created them, male and female God created them. (Genesis 1:26-27 Common English Bible) Questions of identity - Who am I? Why am I here? - have often plagued the minds of philosophers and theologians. Since the Enlightenment, we have received various attempts to answer these q...
