    The Seeley-Swan Lady Blackhawks volleyball team faced the Superior Bobcats Aug. 26 in their first match of the season and then headed to Drummond Aug. 28 for a tournament. The Lady Blackhawks made quick work of the Bobcats winning three sets in a row, 25-16, 25-19 and 25-23.     ARLEE – The Blackhawks opened their football season with a victory Aug. 27 defeating the Arlee Warriors 26-8. With last year's starting quarterback out for the season, Junior Owen Hoag has taken on the job with Junior Ben Haley as a backup.     SEELEY LAKE – The Seeley Lake Sewer District Board approved their Action Plan and jumped into action with reports on improving the District’s communication and researching sewer alternatives at its Aug. 19 meeting.     SEELEY LAKE – The Seeley Lake Sewer District Board adopted a resolution setting the method and assessment to collect taxes for their 2021-22 fiscal year at a hearing June 28. Following the hearing, the Board held its regular monthly meeting where it discussed an action plan laying out direction for the District and hiring a manager.     SEELEY LAKE – The Seeley Lake Sewer District Board appointed Cheri Thompson to serve on the Board and adopted an equal assessment method for next year’s tax assessment at their May 20 meeting. In other business, the Board hired an interim manager, heard a presentation on a water study in the area and discussed studying the groundwater with the Health Department.     SEELEY LAKE – The Seeley Lake Sewer District Board will be discussing and possibly selecting an assessment method for the 2022 fiscal year at their May 20 meeting. McDonald shattered Christian Jette's 1992 record by 7 feet 7 inches with a throw of 163 feet 10 inches.
