FRENCHTOWN - The Seeley-Swan Blackhawks were originally scheduled to go to Great Falls but the meet was canceled. The Seeley-Swan Qualifier was put together on short notice April 28. SEELEY LAKE – The Seeley Lake Elementary (SLE) school board received a request for land to construct an ice rink at their April 17 meeting. They also received updates on a wide range of topics from the school’s new policy for walkout protests and building updates, to teacher contract negotiations. The snow and cold weather on Easter had some questioning if winter is really over but at the county shop in Seeley Lake, the atmosphere on April 1 was more like Christmas. DEER LODGE - The Powell County Board of Adjustment unanimously approved a zoning variance request for a 61-lot subdivision named Swan Mountain Estates near the Seeley Lake Airport at the March 20 public hearing. The variance was the beginning of the official process with the county and the first of many steps for developers to complete before the subdivision can be finalized. SWAN VALLEY – Representatives of the Flathead National Forest met with area residents at the Swan Valley Community Hall to discuss where the re-writing of the Forest Plan is in the process and the next steps. SEELEY LAKE - The Seeley-Swan Blackhawks and Lady Blackhawks took on Drummond Feb. 1 and then hosted Lincoln Feb. 3. The Boys had a great game against the Trojans at Drummond. SEELEY LAKE - At their Jan. 18 meeting, the Seeley Lake Sewer Board voted to restart engineering on the treatment plant and Phase 1 of the collection system. In other business, they signed grant applications for funding to design Phase 2 of the collection system.
