Just before 11:00 a.m. on July 24, multiple agencies, including Missoula County Sheriff’s Office Deputies, were dispatched to the Johnsrud Park area, where it was reported a male, wade fishing in the area, was in distress and had gone under in the Blackfoot River and had not resurfaced. From the Missoula County Sheriff’s Office Missoula, MT (March 29, 2023) – The Sheriff and Coroner, Jeremiah Petersen, is releasing the name of the man who was found deceased along Interstate 90 near mile marker 109. The deceased male has been identified as Ian C. Throndsen, 61, of Missoula. At this time, no criminal activity has been identified as contributing to the death of Mr. Throndsen.
