SWAN VALLEY - The Swan Valley Elementary School (SVES) War Hawk basketball teams opened their season against the Hall Huskies Saturday, Jan. 7. The "A" squad had a comfortable win against Hall (54-32) and it was a close loss (16-24) for the "B" squad. SWAN VALLEY - It could be said that the Swan Valley Warhawks “B” squad and the Helmville “B” squad are pretty close when it comes to winning basketball. SWAN VALLEY - For the second time this year, the Warhawks failed to beat the scrappy Hall Huskies on the Warhawk’s home floor, losing by a score of 28 to 34. The “A” squad ended up 6 points short after holding a 14-point lead in the first half. The offense just couldn’t make the shots they needed to maintain a halftime lead of 22 to 10. SWAN VALLEY - The Warhawks "B" team played well on Friday night against Helmville but ended up with a tie 14 to 14 at the end of regulation play. As league rules dictate, the game ended. The A squad was much improved and in all areas of the game but came up short of a win, 30 to 24.
